Founded 1934 (one of the oldest continuously-operating American distilleries) — originally in Sunset Hills, VA, moved to Fredericksburg in 1988. Owned by Sazerac Company since 2003. Receives bourbon distillate from Buffalo Trace and re-distills it on the Virginia copper still plus does final aging in VA. Pioneer Bourbon (entry), John J. Bowman Single Barrel, Abraham Bowman Limited Edition (the most prestigious — international competition winner).
