Founded 1948 by JN Radhakrishna Rao Jagdale. Amrut Single Malt (released 2004) was the first Indian single malt to win significant international whisky competition recognition — establishing the Indian single malt category. Master distiller Surrinder Kumar drove the early international reputation. Bangalore's hot, humid climate accelerates maturation dramatically.
