Founded 1815 on Islay's south shore (the 'Kildalton trio' alongside Lagavulin and Laphroaig). Heavily peated (~55 PPM) — Ardbeg house style is iodine, sea spray, dense smoke. Ardbeg Committee — the global fan club — is one of the largest distillery loyalty programs in spirits. Acquired by LVMH (Glenmorangie's parent) in 2004.
