Founded by Rick Wasmund. Pioneered apple- and cherry-wood-smoked malted barley as a Virginia analog to Scottish peat. Wasmund's Single Malt is the flagship — released the same year as Tuthilltown's Hudson, making them co-pioneers of modern American craft whiskey production east of Texas. Also produces rye whisky and gin.
