Clairin is the traditional Haitian sugarcane spirit — like rhum agricole (fresh cane juice rather than molasses) but produced by hundreds of small rural distilleries with no central regulation, using natural fermentation, wood-fired stills, and ancestral methods. The Velier import line specifies the distiller (Sajous, Vaval, Casimir, Le Rocher) on each bottling. The most artisanal end of the rum spectrum globally.
