Founded 1765 by Irish-born Richard Hennessy. Largest cognac producer in the world (~50% of global cognac volume). Acquired by LVMH in 1971 (now Moët Hennessy with Diageo holding minority stake). Master blender role passed through the Fillioux family for 8 generations.
