Founded 1815 — west of Lagavulin in the Kildalton trio. Distinctively medicinal/iodine peat profile (Bristol-Myers tried to suppress its sale in the US in the 1920s, claiming the iodine character meant it must be a 'medicinal preparation'). Royal warrant from then-Prince Charles. One of very few Scottish distilleries with on-site malting floor.
