Founded 1992 by Bill Lark — the man who personally drove the legalization of small-scale distilling in Tasmania (Tasmania had been dry of legal whisky distillation since 1839 and Bill obtained the law change). 'The Father of Australian Whisky.' First commercial release 1998. The entire modern Tasmanian whisky industry — 30+ distilleries today — traces back to Lark's 1992 license.
