Founded 1855 as Asia's first brewery and distillery (originally Dyer's Brewery, est. by Edward Dyer in Kasauli — later moved primary operations to Solan). Mohan family acquired in 1949. Old Monk Rum (released 1954) is the iconic dark Indian rum — molasses-based, vanilla-and-spice profile, cult following internationally. One of the longest-running rum brands in the world.
