Founded 2010 to acquire and bottle the remaining stock from the closed Willowbank Distillery (Dunedin, 1969-1997). When Willowbank closed, ~400 casks remained in storage; the NZ Whisky Company acquired them and gradually releases vintage-dated bottles. Started its own new distillation in 2018. The Dunedin DoubleWood and South Island vintage releases are the historical Willowbank stock.
