Founded 2000. First Welsh whisky distillery for over 100 years (Welsh distilling collapsed in the late 19th century). Used a unique single-still 'Faraday still' design (Dr David Faraday) — claims highest spirit yield per still in the world. Heavy use of Madeira and other wine cask finishes — the Penderyn Madeira is the flagship.
