First post-Prohibition WV distillery. Founded by John Little. Built reputation on the Old Scout line — sourcing premium MGP bourbon and rye, with thoughtful blending and West Virginia bottling. Has been distilling its own grain whiskey at the Maxwelton facility since 2014; some Old Scout releases now blend MGP-sourced + Smooth Ambler-distilled. Acquired by Pernod Ricard in 2021.
