Founded 2010 by Emerson Lamb and Matt Hofmann. The most influential American Single Malt distillery of the modern era — Westland's 5-malt mashbill template (using paler/darker brewer's malts including chocolate and roasted barley) defined what 'American Single Malt' could mean as a flavor profile distinct from Scotch. Acquired by Rémy Cointreau in 2017. Garryana series uses native Pacific Northwest Garry oak, the only true U.S.-native oak species in the Quercus garryana family.
