Founded 2004 as House Spirits Distillery (also producing Aviation Gin and Krogstad Aquavit). Released Westward American Single Malt in 2012. Diageo Distill Ventures took a stake in 2018 and Westward Whiskey was spun off as the focused single-malt brand (with House Spirits' other lines moving elsewhere or sold). Uses ale yeast and Portland brewer's pale malts — Portland brewery DNA expressed in whiskey form. The Stout Cask Finish (matured in casks from local Oregon stout breweries) is a signature collaboration line.
